NEW SKRULLOS–Marvel fans nationwide have been complaining about the Secret Invasion finale after G’iah was exposed to Harvest and gained all the Avengers’ powers. But it’s not only the fans who are complaining. Up-and-coming Marvel villains are also becoming deterred at the possibility of facing off against such an overpowered foe.
“It’s not fair!” complained Dr. Samuel Sterns, a.k.a. the Leader, in an interview. “I’ve been waiting 15 years for my big comeback, and then this happens? Whatever. I’m just gonna call it quits.” Without its major villain, next year’s Captain America: Brave New World is expected to just feature Sam Wilson having a really good day and being the cool uncle to his nephews.
“I’m not sure I can compete with that power set,” commented Kang the Conqueror. “I mean, sure, I can just go back in time and stop G’iah from getting all those powers in the first place. But then again, she can stretch, and punch really hard.”
“Doom will not be outdone by this charlatan!” proclaimed Latverian monarch Dr. Victor von Doom. “In fact, this fight will be so far beneath Doom that Doom will just stay in Doom’s castle and not engage this whole time!”
G’iah herself addressed the villains’ concerns. “I really don’t know what people are so upset about,” she admitted. “I may have gotten lots of powers, but Fury didn’t recruit me as an Avenger, and I’ve never really been the heroic type. In fact, I probably won’t even be in any of the Marvel movies. Who knows? Maybe I’ll just travel the galaxy on my own and have some Solo adventures.”
It may be that the only one strong enough to stop G’iah now is a very reluctant Dane Whitman, a.k.a. the Black Knight. Will he be Game to challenge her for the Throne?
