BURBANK, CA–Numerous sources report that Daniel Radcliffe has been cast as the MCU’s Wolverine in the upcoming Deadpool and Wolverine. Radcliffe is best known for starring in the Harry Potter films and the recent documentary Weird.

Some have voiced skepticism about Radcliffe adopting the role of Wolverine. “This is the former star of a tween fantasy series suddenly being cast as a dark, violent vigilante,” said Robert Pattinson, who starred opposite Radcliffe in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005). “I just don’t think it can work. In fact, it’s a Batty idea!”

However, Radcliffe himself seems optimistic. “There’s actually a lot of similarities between the characters. For example, my character in Harry Potter was Harry, and Wolverine is hairy too.”

Radcliffe also commented that, as a nod to the fans, Wolverine in this film would be referred to as Weapon X-pecto Patronum.

While Radcliffe didn’t initially make Marvelous Movies’ top 5 choices to play Wolverine, we wish him the best in the role.

At publishing time, Marvel had cast Josh Hutcherson of Hunger Games fame as the Punisher. Additionally, Taylor Lautner has been cast as Deathstroke the Terminator in the rebooted DCU.
