SAN DIEGO–In the wake of San Diego’s virtual Comic Con, Star Wars fans had their legs cut out from under them by the emergence of rumors that Hayden Christensen is set to return to the franchise in an unspecified role on the Kenobi TV show.

This news awakened a forceful response from the fanbase who rose to the occasion by declaring this the last straw.

Amy Darla showed a breathtaking range of emotion by commenting, “Disney, you’re breaking my heart!”

Jay K. Lloyd tweeted, “I hate you!”

Gregor McEwan’s tweet, “Kenobi was supposed to restore the franchise, not bring it to darkness!” has received over 9,000 retweets and likes on Twitter.

In addition to this small sampling, angry fans commented to roast Mr. Christensen with some shocking insults and bewilderment over why this decision was made.

The move is likely a financial one. Despite the mixed reception Mr. Christensen’s portrayal of Anakin Skywalker has generated among the Star Wars fanbase, his performance has always killed among children. This decision is likely a cheap way for Disney and Lucasfilm to throw a bone to the 6-15 demographic. That move has always been a bombad success for the franchise.
