BURBANK, CA – It was one of the hottest television shows of the 1990s. Now, according to our anonymous sources, Captain Planet & the Planeteers will soon be added to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in an exclusive and unique licensing deal.
This film will bridge the events of the Infinity War saga and the next phase of the MCU. “With Thanos, we had a villain who killed half the population to deal with the problems of overpopulation,” Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige said in a recent statement. “With the addition of Captain Planet and his human allies to the MCU, we are set to take on a bunch of looters and polluters destroying the planet for their own selfish ends.”
In the TV show, Gaia, the spirit of the earth, created five rings that gave five ordinary teenagers power over various elements. Gaia will be replaced in the film by Oprah Winfrey, playing herself, who will dole out her rings by pointing at random teenagers and yelling, “You get a ring, and you get a ring, and YOU get a ring!”
When overwhelmed by a powerful foe, these ring-bearers can combine the power of their rings to summon the ghost of Mr. Rogers, who will then use his superpowers to re-introduce sanity, harmony, friendship, and understanding into the world. Feige has confirmed that Mr. Rogers will be the only character in the MCU more powerful than Captain Marvel.
