HAWKINS, IN–Citizens are advised that Jean Grey, a dangerous mutant with mind control capabilities, has escaped custody and is on the run. While originally based in New York, Grey has traveled all the way to small-town Indiana, according to sources. She has allegedly been seen with an unidentified companion, another teenage girl with telekinetic abilities. Authorities from the Department of Damage Control are in pursuit and tracking the girls’ whereabouts.

“These girls should be considered extremely dangerous,” said DODC director Bill Metzger in a public statement yesterday. “If you see them, do not approach, and maintain a safe distance of at least 30 feet. Call local authorities or Damage Control to handle the situation.”

“While it may sound impossible that someone could really have such powerful mental abilities, I can assure you that stranger things have happened,” Metzger added.

Sources report that Grey, who recently broke into DODC headquarters in search of an unknown target called “V-Max,” may now be using the alias of “Max.” Her companion is still a Jane Doe, but the girls are also known associates of a mutant named Sam Guthrie, a.k.a. Cannonball. Guthrie has been part of a group calling themselves “the New Mutants” and may be using the alias “Jonathan Byers.”

Alexei Shostakov, a.k.a. the Red Guardian of the New Avengers, claimed to recognize the Jane Doe of the group. “I have been surrogate father to a few extraordinary young ladies,” Shostakov told Marvelous Movies in an interview. “But this one is like daughter to me. Please bring her home safely.”

“We just want to make sure the girls are safe,” Metzger assured the public. “Damage Control will take good care of them and ensure that they get the proper help they need.”

It’s not immediately clear exactly what kind of help DODC can offer the girls–whether they’ll be referred to some kind of school for gifted youngsters or merely be kept in government custody. However, Dr. Martin Brenner, a leading scientist in the field of metahuman research and known associate of DODC, has said he would be eager to work with the girls and help them reach their full potential.

Anyone with information on the girls’ whereabouts is urged to use caution and contact the Department of Damage Control immediately.
