BURBANK, CA–Ahead of the highly anticipated revival series Daredevil: Born Again, Marvel has just made an exciting announcement. Besides the familiar cast including Daredevil, Punisher, and Kingpin, the series will guest star the superhero Bibleman, who will teach kids about the true meaning of being born again.

“We’ve been wanting to bring Bibleman into the MCU for a long time,” said Marvel Chief Creative Officer Kevin Feige. “Once Disney bought out what was left of Lifeway Christian Resources, we were excited to make this happen.” Feige confirmed that the series will also feature the song “Born Again” by Christian pop rock band the Newsboys as its theme song.

Willie Aames, the 64-year-old actor once known for Eight is Enough and Charles in Charge, will return as an older, disillusioned Bibleman who comes out of retirement when the city faces a new threat. Bibleman will aid Daredevil’s fight against villains such as Kingpin, Bullseye, and Muse, while also sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with all who cross his path. Each episode will conclude with a brief segment where Bibleman addresses the audience directly, urging kids to talk to their parents or pastors about how to be saved.

In between fight scenes, Bibleman will try to persuade the Catholic Matt Murdock to become truly born again. He’ll explain in detail from key scriptural texts that Mary and the saints are not to be worshiped along with Jesus, and that salvation comes solely by faith in Christ through God’s grace, not by any works of penitence that man can do. After his conversion, Matt will recognize that dressing up as a devil isn’t glorifying to God, changing his name and persona to DareAngel instead. Similarly, the Punisher will repent of all the killing he’s done, accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior, and go on to star in a more family-friendly Punisher revival on DisneyPlus.

Aames’s Bibleman will also star in a spin-off series on DisneyPlus, which will be part of Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He’ll then return for Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, where he’ll have the opportunity to share the gospel with other fan-favorite Marvel heroes across the multiverse.

“This series Aames to do something that Marvel hasn’t done before,” Feige commented. “We pray it’ll be a life-changing and even religious experience for the fans.”

Daredevil: You Must Be Born Again premieres in March, only on DisneyPlus.
