Gwyneth Paltrow to Fill Iron Man Void as (Fe)male
BURBANK, CA – In a highly-lauded move, Marvel Studios has announced that Gwyneth Paltrow will be returning to the MCU as Pepper Potts, who will be assuming the Iron Man mantle recently shouldered by her late husband, Tony Stark.
“Fans have wanted to see Pepper suit up since Iron Man,” Paltrow said in a recent interview, “and her appearance in the fight against Thanos in Avengers: Endgame was an audience favorite! Naturally, we began to explore the possibility of bringing Pepper back to forge a legacy she could pass to her and Tony’s daughter, Morgan.”
“Pepper has had a long, complex story arc,” Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios, said in a recent press release. “She has been a hero in her own right from the very beginning, and we are committed to playing out her storyline to its natural extremis.”
“I love Pepper’s superhero name,” Paltrow gushed. “Iron Man was written for a largely-male audience, so naturally, the full name had to be spelled out for them. (Fe)male will have a more mixed audience who will be able to appreciate the scientific word play involved.”
So far, we have about 3,000 reasons to love that Pepper is set to rescue Tony’s superhero mantle from obscurity.
