BURBANK, CA–Sources reveal that prolific actor Chris Pratt has been cast as the voice of Darth Vader in the upcoming second season of Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Pratt, seemingly the Chosen One to be in every movie these days, has become especially recognized for his voice acting work as of late. His credits include the upcoming Super Mario Bros. movie, future seasons of Rick and Morty, and the 2024 reboot of Garfield.
“Sure, we recognize that none of those have even come out yet,” said showrunner Deborah Chow in an interview. “But if he’s getting that many roles, then he’s got to be good, right?”
“We’re sad to see James Earl Jones retire from the iconic role after so long,” commented Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy. “But we’re sure that Chris Pratt, widely known for his comedic and family-friendly work, is the best person to fill those shoes.”
“After all, Darth Vader has been played by Hayden Christensen, so we can really only go up from there.”
As Vader, Pratt will Guard the Galaxy against rogue Jedi and treasonous Rebels.
Obi-Wan Kenobi will return to DisneyPlus in 2024.
