BURBANK, CA–After returning for the upcoming film Power Rangers: Once and Always, streaming exclusively on Netflix, the original Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers have also been confirmed to appear in Avengers: Secret Wars.
“Many people forgot that Power Rangers originally aired on Fox,” said Marvel’s Chief Creative Officer Kevin Feige. “And now that we own Fox, the Power Rangers are fair game! We’ve been looking for ways to bring them into the MCU for a while now.”
Based on the comic book storyline of the same name, Secret Wars will be a multiverse-spanning adventure, where cosmic events called incursions threaten to destroy different worlds. When the incursions come to the Power Rangers’ world, Billy, Zack, and the other heroes of Angel Grove must join forces with the Avengers to save their reality!
Classic villains such as Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd are expected to ally themselves with Kang the Conqueror and rumored antagonist Doctor Doom for a truly menacing team of foes. Paul Freeman will reprise his role as Ivan Ooze from the first Power Rangers movie. Ooze, a purple-faced villain, will attempt to collect all the infinity stones in order to turn half the universe into his mind-controlled ooze zombies.
The united heroes will form a new team called the Power Avengers. Fan theories suggest that Riri Williams will use Stark tech to build Zords for herself and the other remaining Avengers. These will join forces to create the Avengers Megazord, the single most awesome thing ever seen onscreen in cinematic history.
Look for Power Rangers: Once and Always exclusively on Netflix in April. Avengers: Secret Wars hits theaters in 2026.
