Everyone is talking about Deadpool & Wolverine with all of its wacky cameos! While we knew it was gonna be a multiverse movie, most people weren’t expecting appearances from characters like Blade, X-23, or Doctor Doom. After the last couple of decades of Marvel movie history, there were some deep cuts that fans could have missed. Granted, there were also quite a few deep cuts that you surely noticed, such as when Wolverine’s claws cut deep into Deadpool, or Deadpool’s swords cut deep into various body parts of the bad guys. Nonetheless, here are a few more deep cuts that you might not have been aware of.
5. Foggy Nelson. No, not the beloved Elden Henson from the Daredevil TV series. Foggy Nelson from the 2003 Daredevil movie (portrayed by Jon Favreau) had a cameo near the beginning of the movie, foreshadowing the later appearance of Elektra (Jennifer Garner) from the same film. As a legal representative for the Avengers, Nelson is the one who told Wade (in a flashback to 2018) that he couldn’t be an Avenger because of rights issues between Fox and Disney. Nelson surely wasn’t Happy to deliver the hard news!

4. The MC from the first Deadpool film. Even in Deadpool (2016), this was a blink-and-you-miss-it role. The MC at a strip club–a thin, elderly man with glasses and a mustache–yells “Give it up for Chastity!” to announce one of the strippers. Well, the same man can be seen during Deadpool & Wolverine on an advertisement for “Stanlee Steamer” on the side of a bus. In fact, some fans have reported seeing this visage in a number of other Marvel films too. See if you can spot them all!

3. Superman. This definitely counts as a deep cut, since it’s not like anyone watches or cares about those dumb DC movies. But it does show just how far through the multiverse Deadpool is able to go. When searching for different Wolverines near the film’s beginning, Deadpool instead stumbles onto Superman (Henry Cavill) in one universe. Later on, Lego Superman (Channing Tatum) also appears as one of the heroes trapped in the Void–and he was quite the card!

2. Carol Ferris. Speaking of the Dreaded Competition, Superman isn’t the only DC character to appear here. Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), who played the title character’s love interest in Green Lantern (2011), shows up here as one of the Deadpool variants from the Void. Come to think of it, the Green Lantern movie also had Ryan Reynolds in it, so this isn’t the first time he and Lively have done a movie together. Hmm…maybe the two of them should start a Lively romance!

1. Hannibal King. Blade (Wesley Snipes) had an obvious role in Deadpool & Wolverine, but his ally Hannibal King, first appearing in Blade: Trinity (2004), also shows up. King (Ryan Reynolds) appears as one of the Deadpool variants in the void. Additionally, the film’s main character, portrayed by Reynolds, appears to be just another King variant himself! Who saw that plot twist coming?
